Sei Whale Found in a Field Near the English Coast??

Recently on South Uist, England near Gerinish, a rare sei whale was found laying in the middle of a field.  The beach was over 800 yards away!  Big question is, How did it get there?

Most are speculating that the whale was somehow ill and came into shallow water like whales do sometimes when they are in such a state.  Then a tide which was much higher than normal, allowed the whale to come in closer than normal and when the tide waters receded, the whale was stranded.

Scientists tried to move the whale back into the water, but at over 56 feet long and 4000 lbs, the task proved impossible and eventually the whale died.  A terrible ending for a rare species of whale.

North Dakota's Devil's Lake Continuously Grows

In North Dakota, a lake has been slowly "growing" over the past 20 years or so,  consuming houses, farms, and even towns.  It has been dubbed "Monster Lake". Eerily, the lake is named Devil's Lake which is located northwest of Fargo, North Dakota.  This is a one-of-a-kind situation.  No other place suffers this dilemma.

The lake has more than tripled in size since 1990 and has cost over a billion dollars to suppress it's growth.  With no natural way for the lake to drain, it is projected that the lake will continue to grow over the next 10 years! Nearly $300,000 dollars a year are spent pumping water out of the the lake to reduce it's depth by 1 inch!

Parrot arrested for aiding drug dealers in Columbia

A parrot was taken away, along with it's owners, by police in Barranquilla, Columbia this past Wednesday.  Turns out the parrot was trained by it's owners to shout out warnings to run when he saw the police approaching.  Apparently this is a common practice among drug dealers in the area.  Talk about a jail bird!
